Lemon Tree (meyer lemon)

Sweet California Meyer Lemon. This tree always has something going on, either it is in fruit or flower and sometimes both. It thrives in nearly every climate, as long as it is brought indoors before freezing. Evergreen leaves with wonderful fragrant large size fruit. Spectacular array of purplish-white flowers with a wonderful aromatic scent. Great for indoors. 8 years old. 14"-18" tall.

Dwarf Hosta ('little wonder')

This mini, shade loving plant is full of charm. It has narrow 1" light green leaves edged with a creamy white margin. Tiny but typical hosta bell flowers with lavender/purple blooms. Flowers appear in late spring and early summer. Great companion plant to display as an accent bonsai or by itself. Keep outdoors. 5 years old 7" tall

Top Hat Blueberry (vaccinium corymbosum argustifolium)

Our dwarf Top Hat Blueberry is native to northern and alpine North America. Loaded with small white blooms in spring followed by sweet full size 1/2" edible blueberries. It has a harvest season of one month starting in early August. Self pollinating. Only 18" when fully grown. The foliage turns a bright red color in the fall. It's small leaves, gnarly trunk and slow growth make this the best edible bonsai. Keep outdoors. 8 years old 6"-8" tall

Ligustrum - Straight Trunk (ligustrum lucidum)

Native to China and Eastern Asia and now grown ornamentally in the United States. The berries are employed as a "yin" tonic in traditional Chinese medicine for a wide variety of conditions, including premature aging, ringing in the ears and chronic toxicity. White flowers are attractive during late spring and early summer. Does well indoors. One of our favorites. 5 years old. 6" tall.

Sweet Plum (sageretia theezans)

A tropical evergreen tree native to China. Has very small (less than 3/4") green leaves which are lightly veined and almost bronze when they emerge. The Sageretia sheds its bark and the trunk becomes multi-colored. Small pink-white flowers in spring give way to small black fruits (3-5mm) during the summer and into autumn. A very popular bonsai for indoors. 6 years old. 11" tall.

Olive (olea europaea "little ollie")

Also known as Common Olive or European Olive. Silvery leaves and white bark make this a very interesting looking tree. This unique tree produces the edible olive that is also used to make olive oil. To encourage fruiting, keep at 35F for several weeks during winter. Olea are often used as shade trees or planted in groves. Produces flowers on second year's branch growth. Transplants best in summer. Tolerates poor soil, heat, drought and loves the sun. Excellent for indoors. 7 years old. 10" - 11" tall.

Flowering White Serissa - Small-Tree of a Thousand Stars (serissa japonica)

Tree of a Thousand Stars. The Japonica has somewhat elongated spoon shaped shiny green leaves. It is a twiggy tree that grows tighter with shearing. This Northern Chinese Serissa has small white trumpet shaped blossoms. Easy indoor care. 3 years old. 8" tall.

Sweet Acacia (acacia farnesiana)

This small tree which is native to tropical America has very small feathery, finely divided leaflets on compound leaves and has a soft medium green color. The slightly rough stems are a rich chocolate brown or grey having sharp short multiple thorns. The small, yellow, puff-like flowers are very fragrant and appear in clusters in late winter and also sporadically after each new flush of growth, providing nearly year round bloom. The persistent fruits have a glossy coat and contain seeds which are cherished by birds and other wildlife. Great for indoors. 9 years old. 10"-12" tall.

Flowering Pink Hibiscus (anisodontea scabrosa)

Dwarf evergreen tree native to the Eastern Cape region of South Africa. Fairly fast growing , rewarding tree that flowers for most of the year. It has rounded 1" long three lobed pink flowers along arching branches. The clear pink 1"wide flowers can appear at any time but are most abundant during spring, summer and fall. Tip prune to encourage woody habit and to keep it full and compact. Great for indoors. 6 years old. 7" tall.

Jaboticaba - Medium (eugenia caulifora)

Native to southern Brazil the Jaboticaba, pronounced in five (5) syllables just as it is spelled, is a member of the Myrtle family and relative of the Guava. The botanical name "Cauliflora" means that it flowers and bears fruit on the trunk and mature branches. During its flowering period the tree is covered in clusters of small white flowers all over the trunk and branches. These eventually develop into dark berries, which are sometimes sold in delicatessens. The kernels of the fruits can be grown as bonsai which make pretty indoor trees. The bark has a habit of peeling off in curls as the trunk and branches expand. Great for indoors. 9 years old. 12" tall.
