Allium fall flower bulbs

Alliums are ideal for containers, mass plantings, borders, and cut flowers as they add great ornamental value. They have a bloom period of about 3 weeks and they bloom in late spring to early summer.  Allium flower plants are rabbit, squirrel, and deer resistant.  Alliums prefer to be dry during their dormancy. 

 


Azureum Allium

The Allium 'Azureum', 'Allium caeruleum'', a fall planted ornamental onion bulb, produces beautiful uniquely colored sky blue flowers with a diameter of 1.5". This Allium is easy to grow and does well in average to rich, well drained soil. Plant in groups of ten or more for an eye catching focal point. 


Cowanii Allium

The Allium 'Cowanii, 'Allium neapolitanum', a fall planted ornamental onion bulb, produces beautiful white flowers. The Cowanii is a classic Allium variety, introduced in the 18th century. Allium neapolitanum blooms with graceful clusters of white stars. The blooms are pleasantly fragrant and this plant is an easy and prolific addition to the garden. 


Drumsticks Allium

The Allium 'Drumsticks', 'Allium sphaerocephalon', a fall planted ornamental onion bulb, produces beautiful crimson-purple flowers. It has showy, deep purple - crimson florets form large oval flower clusters atop sturdy stems. It is striking in the mixed border or rock garden, especially with yellow daylilies. The blooms are pleasantly fragrant and this plant is an easy and prolific addition to the garden. 


Gladiator Allium

The Allium 'Gladiator', 'Allium', a fall planted ornamental onion bulb, produces beautiful violet - blue flowers. This showy giant produces large, violet-blue globular flowers. Plant them in groups of three or more bulbs for the best effect. They are great for ornamental value and widely used for both landscape and cut flower purposes. 


Globemaster Allium

The Allium 'Globemaster', 'Allium albopilosum/elatum', a fall planted ornamental onion bulb, will produce large flowers. This gigantic Allium is a cross breed between Allium albopilosum and Allium elatum. One flower measures 10" across and the flowering period lasts for several weeks to a month. New florets constantly appear and cover the old ones. 


Hair Allium

The Allium 'Hair', 'Allium', a fall planted ornamental onion bulb, will produce unique hairy flowers. 'Hair' displays hairy purple and green strands above attractive broad, glaucous leaves. They are great for ornamental value and widely used for both landscape and cut flower purposes. The blooms are pleasantly fragrant, and this plant is an easy and prolific addition to the garden. 


Ivory Queen Allium

The Allium 'Ivory Queen', 'Allium karataviense', a fall planted ornamental onion bulb, will produce large flowers. Ivory Queen is a sport of Allium karataviense and displays dense ivory-white flowers shining above attractive broad, glaucous leaves. They are great for ornamental value and widely used for both landscape and cut flower purposes. 


Lucy Ball Allium

The Allium 'Lucy Ball', 'Allium', a fall planted ornamental onion bulb, will produce large flowers. This award-winning variety has sweetly scented, dark rosy, lilac flower heads, that are tightly packed and sitting at the top of tall, thick, bare stems. They are great for ornamental value and widely used for both landscape and cut flower purposes. 


Mixed Colors Miniatures Allium

The Allium 'Miniatures Mixed Colors', 'Allium minatures', a fall planted ornamental onion bulb, will produce flowers of assorted colors. These smaller plants work very well as a front border or in a rock garden. They are great for ornamental value and widely used for both landscape and cut flower purposes. The blooms are pleasantly fragrant and this plant is an easy and prolific addition to the garden. 


Moly Allium

The Allium 'Moly', 'Allium', a fall planted ornamental onion bulb, will produce yellow flowers. The Molly is a profusely flowering, bright yellow allium species. Its gray-green leaves remain attractive for a fairly long period. The blossoms come in clusters, naturalize, and spread. They are easy to grow. They are great for ornamental value and widely used for both landscape and cut flower purposes. 


Mount Everest Allium

The Allium 'Mt. Everest', 'Allium Hybrid', a fall planted ornamental onion bulb, will produce creamy white flowers. This tall Allium hybrid produces large 6" spheres of creamy white flowers - like giant snowballs. The plants are vigorous and the flowers are long-lasting. Plant in groups of ten or more for an eye catching focal point. 


Ostrowskianum Allium

The Allium 'Ostrowkianum', 'Allium oreophilum', a fall planted ornamental onion bulb, will produce pinkish-purple flowers. Ostrowkianum displays starbursts of deep pink to brighten your landscape. They are lovely for the rock garden and easy to grow. Watch them multiply year by year. They are great for ornamental value and widely used for both landscape and cut flower purposes. 


Purple Sensation Allium

The Allium 'Purple Sensation', ' Allium aflatunenense', a fall planted ornamental onion bulb, will produce purple flowers. This flower is sure to turn heads with its 4-inch wide globes of tightly packed pink-purple florets which sit at the top of a tall, thick, bare stem. The low strap-like foliage turns down as the plant blooms, making the spherical cluster of blooms a focal point in your garden. 


Schubertii Allium

The Allium 'Schubertii', 'Allium', a fall planted ornamental onion bulb, will produce pink flowers. The Schubertii is certainly a rare and very striking Allium variety! The umbel reaches up to 15" in diameter with up to 200 pink florets! The blooms are pleasantly fragrant and this plant is an easy and prolific addition to the garden.


Unifolium Allium

The Allium 'Unifolium', 'Allium', a fall planted ornamental onion bulb, produces beautiful pink flowers. Unifolium is a beautiful variety with tiny, bright pink star-shaped flowers, and they make the best showing when planted close together in groups. These pink alliums will thrive almost everywhere and they are wonderful for naturalizing!
